SRMO’s Field Inspection October 2005

After weeks of theory and practical training, our detachment was ready to take part in the SRMO’s Field Inspection. In which, a section of eight cadets from each of the detachments in X-Ray Company (Eastern Area) have to complete an advance to contact in order to take out the enemy from a certain location.
There are three stages to be taken within the inspection.
First, to camouflage themselves out, as well as the cevlar helmet and webbing, within a certain amount of time.
Secondly, the section commander (L/CPL. Brown) has to give his section a briefing using NATO sequence of orders.
Thirdly, to carry out an assault on the enemy forces.
Grades that are awarded for the standard of each attack are: Fair, Satisfactory, Good and Very Good.
This year, Sheffield had put an amazing amount of effort to be awarded a "Very Good" (First time since 2002) but due to an error, we where only awarded a "Good", but 3rd overall in the company.
So we will be striving, even more so, towards the "Very Good" grade in 2006!
